BREAST PROCEDURES
• Breast Augmentation One decision that more and more women are making everyday is to have breast augmentation (a procedure to enhance the size of your breasts by using breast implants.) Advances in breast implants and the surgical technique are making breast augmentation a popular procedure among women of all ages.
• Breast Lift (Mastopexy) If you have lost volume in your breasts and the nipple has lost its position, you may be a candidate for a breast lift. Breast lift or mastopexy is a surgical technique that elevates the nipple and reshapes the breast tissue. The technique is most commonly used for woman who have had children, lost weight, or have a genetic predisposition for breast ptosis (looseness).
• Breast Reduction or reduction mammoplasty Is a surgical procedure that reduces the size and shape of the breasts by removing excess skin and underlying breast tissue. It also reduces the size of the nipple-aerola complex which frequently becomes enlarged as the result of breast development. The results are breasts that are higher, smaller, and more shapely.
OTHER PROCEDURES
• Liposuction Is a surgical technique used to sculpt the body by removing excess fat with a suction cannula. Although, liposuction is not a substitute for dieting and exercise, it can remove unwanted fat deposits, which do not respond to traditional weight-loss methods. Liposuction is also termed “Lipoplasty or suction-assisted lipectomy”. This revolutionary procedure was developed in Europe in the late 1970's. It quickly gained wide spread popularity since the earlier techniques were plagued with extreme scaring due to surgical excision of skin and fat.
• Abdominoplasty If a more toned abdomen is your goal and diet and exercise don’t help, then an abdominoplasty (also called tummy tuck) may be a good choice for you. Abdominoplasty is designed to smooth and flatten the abdomen by excising excess skin, fat, and may also tighten the underlying muscles of the abdominal wall. In some cases, liposuction is used to accentuate the definition of the abdomen.
• Facelift As people age, the effect of gravity, sun exposure, and the stress of daily life can be seen in their faces. A facelift, technically known as a rhytidectomy, can’t stop this aging process. What it can do is “reset the clock”, improving the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying structure, and redraping the skin of your face and neck. A facelift can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.
• Endoscopic Browlift The forehead lift or “browlift” is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed look to the area above the eyes. This procedure corrects drooping brows and improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make a person appear angry, sad or tired.
• Nose Reshaping Or rhinoplasty can take the form of reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery, or a combination of both. The reconstructive aspects of rhinoplasty surgery usually involves improving the nasal passage. The aesthetic portion of rhinoplasty involves the appearance of the nose, including changing the tip, and/or dorsum and their relative proportions.
• Blepharoplasty Cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a surgical procedure in which the excess skin and fat are removed from the upper and lower eyelid. Eyelid surgery can correct droopy upper lids and remove puffy bags from below your eyes. These are features that make you look older and more tired than you feel, and may interfere with your vision. However, it will not correct crow’s feet or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under your eyes, or lift saggy eyebrows. The current state-of-the-art is to remove less fat in the eyelids and to reposition and reinforce the anatomy. The goal is to prevent the hollowed looking eyelid over the long term. Blepharoplasty can be done alone or in conjunction with other facial procedures, such as a face lift or brow lift.
