Dr. Krau is the director, producer and star of his thriving plastic surgery practice located on beautiful Bay Harbor Islands. "I run the show when it comes to my practice," says Dr. Krau, who takes a hands-on approach and is involved with his patients throughout their entire cosmetic procedure process, from the initial consultation through all the post-operative visits. In practice since 1995, Dr. Krau says he is committed to delivering the highest quality results in an environment where safety comes first. Dr. Krau's facility is fully accredited and he insists on working only with board-certified anesthesiologists. Cosmetic procedures such as breast augmentation and lifts; body contouring and abdominoplasty; rhinoplasty; facial rejuvenation such as facelifts, midface lifts, necklifts, endoscopic browlifts, eyelifts, as well as skin care are all performed in Dr. Krau's on-site fully-accredited, state-of-the-art surgical center. An overnight suite is available on the premises for those wishing the extra time and attention. The ever-dedicated Dr. Krau is usually on-site no matter the hour. "I'm not a clock watcher," he says. "I take all the necessary time to get the best outcome for my patients." A former reconstructive surgery instructor at the University of Miami, Dr. Krau favors intricate procedures such as rhinoplasty. "Most plastic surgeons consider this the most difficult type of surgery," says Dr. Krau. "It's an operation where youre dealing with fractions of millimeters. You have to be meticulous and have a feel for what youre doing." His attention to detail, personal approach and closely knit office staff has South Floridians and others flocking to his practice. "Our practice has grown dramatically because our patients recommend us to their family and friends."
BETTER BREAST ENHANCEMENT
Dr. Krau says he has performed thousands of breast augmentation surgeries. However, when it comes to breast lifts, he says his specific technique leaves patients with LESS SCARRING AND A BETTER SHAPE. "While the traditional breast lift is done with an anchor incision, the technique I use, a vertical mammaplasty, does not require that long horizontal incision," says Dr. Krau. "Not only do patients have one less scar, but the shape of the breast is better and the longevity of the lift is longer." Dr. Krau explains that, TRADITIONALLY, SURGEONS HAVE RELIED ON THE SKIN to reshape and support the breast. However, he adds, we recognized over the years that the skin is a very poor structure for breast support. "If you rely on the skin and put too much tension on it, it will stretch and you will be back to square one," says Dr. Krau. "The vertical technique relies on the internal structure of the breast or FASCIAL FRAMEWORK for support. "That, we know, does have strength and does hold, leaving little tension on the skin itself, less scarring and faster healing."
