"Plastic surgery isn't about the procedure, it's about you. My first priority is to listen to you so that your goals are understood and will be met individually. As a result, I'm able to shape the plastic surgery procedure to fit your ideals; not mine. When you know that your surgeon understands what's most important to you, it makes all the difference in how you look and feel."

BREAST PROCEDURES

• Breast augmentation

Technically known as augmentation mammaplasty, is a procedure to enhance a woman's breasts for a number of reasons including to increase the size or shape, to correct a volume change after pregnancy or to correct differences in breast size. Advances in breast implants and the surgical technique are making breast augmentation more popular among women of all ages.
The decision to have breast augmentation may result in a more flattering, better-proportioned figure, more clothing options and may enhance your confidence and self-esteem. The best candidates for breast augmentation are women looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way her breast and chest looks as well as the way clothing fits.
Breast lift
A Breast lift otherwise known as a mastopexy is a surgical procedure to reshape breasts that sag due to weight loss, pregnancy and nursing changes, or aging effects on the breasts. Also the areola may be reduced if desired. The breasts may be further enhanced with the placement of a breast implant at the same time to enlarge and help maintain the size and shape desired.
The procedure can be done with sedation and local but may also require general anesthesia depending on the extent of the procedure. It may take anywhere from one to three hours and most patients go home the same day. The techniques involve removing excess skin and repositioning the breast tissue and areola. Sometimes the incision can be just around the outer edge of the areola but often it may require a vertical or a vertical and horizontal incision. The scars are permanent but usually fade within one year so they are less noticeable. Dr. Bull will discuss with you the best option for you to achieve the desired result.

• Breast reconstruction

After removal for cancer or other disease is one of the most rewarding surgical procedures available today. New medical techniques and devices have made it possible for Dr. Bull to create a breast that can come close in form and appearance to matching a natural breast. Frequently, reconstruction is possible immediately following breast removal (mastectomy), so the patient wakes up with a breast mound already in place, having been spared the experience of seeing herself with no breast at all.
But bear in mind, post-mastectomy breast reconstruction is not a simple procedure. There are often many options to consider as you and Dr. Bull explore which would be best for you.
The information presented here will not answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Please be sure to ask Dr. Bull if there is anything you don't understand about the procedure.

• Breast reduction

Women with very large, pendulous breasts may experience a variety of medical problems caused by the excessive weight including back and neck pain, skin irritation, posture changes that may lead to skeletal abnormalities and even breathing problems. Due to the weight of the breasts, bra straps can leave indentations in their shoulders and cause bruising.
Large breasts can make a woman feel extremely self-conscious as well as the problems mentioned.
Breast reduction, technically known as reduction mammaplasty, is a procedure to remove breast tissue and skin from the breasts to make them smaller, lighter, and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola which is the darker skin surrounding the nipple. The goal of the procedure is to have smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of the body.
The exact procedure and details of breast reduction depend on your individual circumstances so please ask Dr. Bull if there is anything about the procedure you don't understand.
