Breast Augmentation enhances the size of breasts for the woman who feels her breasts are smaller than desired or perhaps differ in size. Many times there is a reduction in breast volume following pregnancy or weight loss. An implant is placed behind the breast. and muscle to enhance both projection and size. An estimated 2 million women have had this procedure performed.
Breast Lift (known as mastopexy)
Is used to uplift and reshape breasts. Over the years factors such as pregnancy, weight gain and loss, and gravity take their toll on breasts causing the skin to stretch, and the breast to sag. The nipple can descend below the crease beneath the breast. A breast lift excises the stretched skin, reduces the size of the areola (the brown skin around the nipple), and raises the nipple position to give a fuller & "perkier" appearance to the breast. The best results are obtained in smaller breasts since weight may cause some recurrent sagging. Mastopexy does leave scars but these are usually covered by bras or bathing suits.
(known as reduction mammaplasty)
Is one of the most gratifying procedures
for the patient. It is most often performed for physical relief. Large sagging breasts cause back, neck, and shoulder discomfort as well as skin irritation beneath the breasts. Breast tissue and skin are excised, resulting in a smaller, lighter and more upright breasts.
(also known as a tummy tuck)
Will markedly reduce the appearance of a
protruding abdomen. Excess skin and fat are removed from the mid and lower abdomen and the muscles of the abdominal wall are tightened. This surgery is often desired by women whose
abdominal muscles and skin have been stretched by pregnancy or weight gain and loss. It leaves a permanent scar in the lower abdominal area often extending from hip to hip.
Removes unwanted fat deposits from specific areas of the body. Liposuction is not a substitute for weight reduction, but a method of removing localized pockets of fat that do not respond to dieting or exercise. The most common areas for treatment are the abdomen, buttocks, hips, thighs and knees in women, and "love handles" in men. The localized fat deposits are reduced in thickness to match the surrounding areas. Even if you gain weight, it is more evenly distributed rather than accumulating in localized areas.
Brachioplasty is surgically
recontouring the arms.
The procedure is usually performed under
general anesthesia. Excessive skin is removed, sometimes in conjunction with a liposuction procedure to remove fat from the arms. For removal of large amounts of skin, an incision is required that runs from near the elbow to the armpit. The incision is placed in the most inconspicuous location (inner arm toward the back), but some scarring may always be visible.
More moderate skin removal is sometimes possible with a smaller incision which is limited to the armpit area to try to keep the scar better hidden.
Is a minimally invasive procedure that is widely used in Europe and elsewhere to treat various injuries and medical conditions. This medical specialty targets problem areas with mircoinjections of conventional or homeopathic medicines, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Tiny "medicinal bullets" are delivered directly into the mesoderm that are highly specific to the condition being treated.
